Chiropractor Known affectionately by his many patients and the community as “Dr. Norm”, Dr. Norm Skjonsberg graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa with his Doctor of Chiropractic in 1993. After spending his first few years practicing in Alberta he came to Saint John and opened his busy practice in 1997. Dr. Norm has been very active in the New Brunswick Chiropractor’s Association since 1998, when he became Secretary. In 2001, he took on the Vice-President role. By 2004, Dr. Norm became the President of the association and was in that position for 14 years and is now the immediate Past President. He has also served 2 years as the NB Director for the Canadian Chiropractic Association after stepping down as NBCA President. Dr. Norm is committed to membership and involvement in local and national Chiropractic associations and foundations. He is a member of the Canadian Chiropractic Association, Canadian Chiropractic Research Foundation (CCRF) , Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association and the Federation of Chiropractic Councils. Dr. Norm was an opinion leader with the Canadian Chiropractic Guidelines Initiative and help establish the presence of the first NB CCRF chiropractic research chair at UNBF. Dr. Norm has been the District Chief of the Grand Bay-Westfield Volunteer Fire Rescue since 2015 and has served as Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain and Training Officer between 1998-2015 and was recipient of the Rookie of the Year and Fire Fighter of the Year awards for exceptional community service and leadership.
